We're looking for an Internal Accountant with a meticulous eye for detail, fluent in English, ready to own the day-to-day finance function at Eventflare. You'll be working in a power team that achieves the impossible over and over again.

Eventflare is a venue discovery platform connecting event organisers with spaces across Europe and beyond. We operate across multiple jurisdictions and work with international clients, which means our finance function needs to be sharp, structured, and comfortable operating across borders.

You'll be our first dedicated finance hire, working directly with the founders. Hands-on from day one: bookkeeping, invoicing, reconciliations, reporting, and the internal go-to on international VAT and cross-border compliance.

Your Tasks

  • Own accounts payable and receivable, invoicing, and monthly reconciliations in Xero
  • Manage AR end-to-end: billing schedules, collections follow-up, ageing reports, and client account reconciliations
  • Run payroll across jurisdictions, coordinating with local payroll providers where required
  • Handle international VAT filings and ensure compliance across EU and non-EU B2B transactions, including reverse charge mechanisms
  • Manage cross-border transactions: multi-currency accounting, FX reconciliation, and intercompany billing
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and cash flow reports for the founders
  • Liaise with external tax advisors and company secretaries across relevant jurisdictions
  • Help build and document financial processes as we scale
  • Reporting directly to the founders

Your Profile (Required)

  • 3+ years in an accounting or finance role, ideally at a company operating internationally
  • You speak and write great English (min. C1 level)
  • Strong working knowledge of EU VAT rules, including B2B cross-border treatment and reverse charge
  • Proven experience managing accounts receivable and payroll, ideally across multiple countries
  • Hands-on Xero experience (or strong cloud accounting tool proficiency with willingness to learn Xero quickly)
  • Comfortable in multi-currency environments and with FX exposure
  • Robust analytical and organisational acumen
  • You are the most structured and organised one in the gang
  • You have a meticulous eye for detail
  • Self-directed and able to work with low oversight in a small team
  • You are ambitious and have a 'can-do' mentality, rather than a 'yes-but'

  • Additional European languages
  • Understanding of finance (balance sheets, P&L and CFS)
  • Financial Modelling (FAST Standards)
  • Experience liaising with external tax advisors and company secretaries
