The 4 Best Cocktail Bars in Brussels

Brussels is best known for its beer. But don’t underestimate its cocktails! We’ve made a list of the absolute best cocktail bars in Brussels. And boy, it’s an exclusive list; the drinks need to be outstanding with an atmosphere to match.

If you’re considering Brussels for your next corporate event, wow them with these gems. The Brussels nightlife won’t let you down.

1) Life is beautiful

Life is Beautiful (LIB to locals) has been around since 2017. What started as a pop-up concept has developed into a cosy cocktail bar on the trendy Rue Antoine Dansaert.

The decor invites friends, not a crazy party; white walls and flowers hanging from the walls create a homey atmosphere.

Paying homage to Brussels’s neighbourhoods and provinces, LIB’s menu offers both a classical and a seasonal section. Cocktails come in at around €13, and you should definitely try their homemade snacks too.

There are several services on offer. Harouna’s cocktail masterclasses are very popular. They also offer taster sessions, catering, and the possibility to hire the venue. You’ll also enjoy their premade cocktails or gift cards.

2) De Haus

De Haus is a trick of gravity. Decorated with crates, it’s like entering a shipwreck. We reckon it has the best-decorated ceiling in Brussels.

The theme of the cocktail bar is unconventional: you’re encouraged to steal books, to buy furniture, but also to relax.

The menu is extensive, filled with gins, natural wines, local beers, cocktails and spirits. Located in Ixelles, you have to pop in and try the Gin of the Week. You can also find a modest food menu to go with your drinks.

They also do group tasting and workshops, which could be a fantastic team-building event.

3) La Pharmacie Anglaise

We told you he’d be back. Francesco Ravo’s unparalleled Le Pharmacie Anglaise is a must-visit. Ravo has turned a gorgeous pharmacy on the Mont des Arts into one of the most peculiar bars you can expect to come across.

There’s a host of different styles in the mix. The building is neo-Gothic; the overarching motif of the place is steampunk. At every corner, there’s something unexpected: overgrown flowers, dangerous-looking medicines, bird skeletons, a cabinet of unspecified steampunk contraptions, bottles of gin and whisky.

The menu is much like the decor. Unique. Subject to change. Undeniably charming… imagine a Victorian apothecary, turned mad!

Book ahead as it’s known to fill up. It’s certainly worth it!

4) Green Lab

Green Lab holds the record for the biggest collection of gin bottles in Belgium. That’s over 100 bottles!

Gin cocktails are the stars here, and homemade herb syrups supplement their impressive menu. There are also five beers on tap, and ten different types of absinth, if you fancy one.

The décor is unique: bold and industrial with steampunk features. There’s ample space with a cozy mezzanine. It’s even touted as a good spot for a film location.

They have regular events such as late-night DJ sets. Or, just go to unwind! The cocktail bar is also the founder and organiser of Brussels Cocktail Week and Casse-Dalle Festival. Green Lab is everything you could want in the way of nightlife.

Wrapping up!

We’re glad we’ve only picked five! Writing one more is going to be unbearable. Now we play the waiting game until Friday.

On a serious note, Brussels is our home, and we really love it. Beer is this city’s thing, but this is a fun example of the different layers that Brussels’s nightlife offers. If you don’t want the party to stop, you could hit one of these music festivals in Brussels.

Corporate events are memorable thanks to the fun conversations you have in the places after. Perhaps one of these cocktail bars in Brussels could be the perfect stop off after one of your events.
